Remember Carles Abellán? Chef of Comerৠ24 (in el Born, our neighbourhood) and Tapas 24, and one of the best chefs in Spain, last summer he opened a Chiringuito. So, you still don’t know about chiringuitos? One of the best things around Spain, chiringuitos are the bars that are located in the same beach, where you can eat tapas or dishes (normally, paellas), with your feet on the sand and the view and sound of the sea. So, if this by itself it’s one of the most amazing things in Spain, imagine if you can find a gastronomic chiringuito. This is la Guingueta. If you’re lucky to be in Barcelona in the summertime, when the sun shines and people go to the beach by bike, you’re lucky enough to be able to eat in what could be the best chiringuito in the world. Gastronomic tapas and portions are served, along with Carles Abellan specialities and typical dishes or sandwiches from the chiringuitos. Oh! Our tip: leave some space for the dessert and go for an ice-cream…they come from Rocambolesc, girona, the ice-cream shop by the brothers of El Celler de Can Roca!!
